Denisha Harris

Denisha Harris

Denisha has over 15 years in local government finance and diversity program development. Denisha currently serves as the Purchasing & Contracts Manager for the Town of Cary. She also serves as the MWBE Officer, developing Cary’s first business inclusion program. Her acumen in inclusion and MWBE programs earned her the opportunity to teach various courses at the UNC School of Government, the NC Office for Historically Underutilized Businesses, and the North Carolina Association of Governmental Purchasing. She has served with the NC MWBE Coordinators’ Network for over a decade in various capacities, currently serving as President. The Network and UNC have developed a course called Minority Participation Programs and Public Contracting, the cornerstone to the Network’s Certified Economic Inclusion Officer (CEIO) credential.

Renee Jones

Renee Jones - NCMWBE

Renee Jones (Vice-President) is the President for All for 1 Inclusion Innovators LLC, a business that aids governmental organizations, corporations and small businesses with supplier diversity programs to take firms to the next level. She will serve on the special projects committee, lead the certification process for members and support the president when needed.

Lisa Horton (Secretary) is a Supplier Diversity Specialist in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Program at Clancy and Theys Construction Company. Lisa has 16 years of experience with the North Carolina Department of Transportation and has completed approximately 8 years of service to the Civil Rights Office.

Shon Burch-Crispin

Shon Burch-Crispin - NCMWBE

Shon Burch-Crispin has 20 years of Accounting and Financial experience and has 16 years of service in local and State government. Her exposure to financial and business operations, capital projects, building maintenance and repair and renovations, led to her career with the Facilities Division at NC State University in 2011. Shon became a part of the Network in 2016. Her responsibilities with the Network as Treasurer, is to provide financial leadership to maintain structurally sound financial records to aide in the Network’s operations and to assist with the financial efforts of the Network.

Maria Torres (Financial Secretary) is the MWBE Coordinator for the City of Raleigh, NC. She now joins the Executive Board as the Financial Secretary for the new fiscal year.

Carla Daniels

Programs Chair

Carla Daniels currently serves as the HUB Program Manager for North Carolina State University. In her current role she advocates and promotes diverse business inclusion on contracting opportunities within the University’s Design and Construction Department. Her responsibilities include community outreach and technical assistance to HUB firms. Prior to joining North Carolina State, Carla served as the first HUB Coordinator for Wake Technical Community College. She is involved in several advocacy groups that support the minority and women-owned business community. She serves as the current chair of the Programs Committee for The Network.

Pamela Gales has spent over 20 years of her career in Local and State government in Durham and Wake counties. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from American Intercontinental University. She is a Certified Local Government Purchasing Officer (CLGPO), and an Executive Certified Master Compliance Administrator (ECMCA). Pamela is an At-Large Board Member of the North Carolina MWBE Coordinators’ Network (NCCN), a member of the American Contract Compliance Association (ACCA), the Carolinas/Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council (CVMSDC), Carolina Association of Government Purchasing (CAGP), and the National Notary Association.

Shaunne Thomas has nearly two decades of experience in procurement, diversity and inclusion, and project management. She has worked in locations across the globe, most recently serving the City of Charlotte as the Interim Compliance Manager charged with implementing the Charlotte Business Inclusion Plan and as Senior Services and Technology Procurement Officer leading cross-functional citywide procurements. Mike Schneider (At-Large) is Senior Project Executive at Messer Construction Company in Raleigh, NC. Mike has a BS and Master of Science in Civil Engineering and 20 years of experience in commercial construction. He will serve as an at large member on the board for MWBE Coordinators’ Network.

Johnny Ortiz

Johnny Ortiz - NCMWBE

Johnny Ortiz serves as the Regional Vendor Diversity Manager for Skanska USA Building’s North Carolina and Virginia region. He oversees the outreach and coordination with small, women and minority owned business enterprises on Skanska projects across the region. Throughout his career, Johnny’s diversity and inclusion efforts have included spearheading and implementing programs such as ESL classes for construction workers. As well as, executing programs such as Skanska’s Construction Management Building Blocks program which focuses on capacity growth for small, women and minority owned firms.
